FOXSportsOhio.com's Draft Coverage Huge Pick With Fans!

FOX Sports Ohio has been excited about the recent NFL Draft coverage on their website, (www.foxsportsohio.com/), and the positive results the unique coverage has received from fans.

FOXSportsOhio.com held two pre-draft coverage events, the first being an AFC North Draft Chat on April 14. Zac Jackson and former Browns and Ravens scout Daniel Jeremiah of MoveTheSticks.com talked about the NFL Draft and received tremendous feedback. To view the archive of the chat click here!

This was the first time FOXSportsOhio.com and Scout.com worked together on something like this and 1,600 unique visitors checked out the information and 283 fans participated in the live chat.

FOXSportsOhio.com and Scout.com worked together again for an NFL Draft Round table that streamed live on the website on April 20.

This live round table discussion featured Zac Jackson and The Orange and Brown Report (www.theobr.com/), the top ranked professional sports website on Scout.com network. Barry McBride, OBR Publisher and Editor, along with Brent Sobleski, OBR Draft Analyst, joined Jackson in this exclusive roundtable. They also took calls from three AFC North Scout.com writes, Aaron Wilson, Marc Hardin and Jim Wexell.

Henry Ford Shoots For a Cure

FOX Sports Ohio is excited for Henry Ford, the network's senior vice president and general manager, to serve as Honorary Chair for the American Diabetes Association's Benefit Gala Tennies, Tuxes & T-Shirts: Shoot For A Cure to be held Friday, July 9, 2010 at Quicken Loans Arena.

This meaningful event will not only help build support for the efforts of the American Diabetes Association in Northeast Ohio, but also help fund research, education and advocacy that will someday find a cure for the people most affected by diabetes.

"The American Diabetes Association does so much for the 23.6 million Americans living with diabetes," said Ford. "Serving as Honorary Chair for this year's gala event allows me to support the efforts that help so many of our friends and loved ones. I hope our caring and neighbors in Northeast Ohio will come out on July 9th and show their support."

Tennies, Tuxes & T-Shirts: Shoot For A Cure promises to be an evening of fun, food, music, and dancing. Guests will enjoy great entertainment, high stakes fun through celebrity gaming, fine dining and fabulous live and silent auctions. Thank You Cavs Fans!

On April 14, 2010 FOX Sports Ohio and the Cleveland Cavaliers partnered with KIA Motors to present "Viewer Appreciation Night" when the Cavaliers battled against the Atlanta Hawks in Atlanta. This night was meant to thank the fans of the Cavaliers and of FOX Sports Ohio for their tremendous support through another playoff basketball season. The network had over 30,000 entries!
During this special FOX Sports Ohio telecast, fans had the opportunity to watch and win one of four fabulous prize packs! These prize packs could have included a behind-the-scenes Cavs game day tour of the Q next season, tickets to a 2010-11 Cavaliers game at the Q, 2010 Cavs Media Day experience at the Cleveland Clinic Courts, Columbus Blue Jackets tickets, an autographed basketball by Z, and/or $200 gas card.

Once a quarter during the game, FOX Sports Ohio broadcasters gave a keyword and a cue to enter. The viewers could then enter by texting the keyword or by entering online on FOXSportsOhio.com. Later that same quarter, the FOX Sports Ohio broadcasters selected and announced the four winners.

As the cable home of the Cavaliers, we were delighted both as fans and partners at the team's accomplishments," said FOX Sports Ohio Senior Vice President and General Manager, Henry Ford. Hungry to Give Back

FOX Sports Ohio employees recently volunteered at the Over-the-Rhine Kitchen in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 24, 2010. The FOX Sports Ohio Cincinnati office staff members volunteer there about once a month. To watch FOX Sports Ohio employees in action click here!

Over-the-Rhine Kitchen is Cincinnati's Oldest Soup Kitchen and serves people who lack the financial means, mental capacity, housing, and/or the life skills to provide themselves with a hot, nutritious meal. Over-the-Rhine Kitchen sees the mentally ill, the elderly poor, the unemployed working poor and underemployed, and the homeless. Through their services, they seek to meet their basic needs for food, water and attempt to improve their quality of life.
Volunteers are essential to the success of the Over-the-Rhine Kitchen. Volunteer opportunities include assisting in the preparation and serving of the meal, setting up the dining room and cleaning and setting up the kitchen and dining room for the next day. Food pickup and delivery on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Weekly participation to maintain food/supply storage rooms. Weekly participation in the pantry to restock shelves and in the pantry to bag groceries. Handyman/building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, appliances, and AC/heating.
"It's a privilege for us here in the FOX Sports Ohio Cincinnati office to volunteer at the Over-The-Rhine Soup Kitchen. We enjoy being able to directly impact members of our community and work together to make a difference," said Ronnie Khadaran, Marketing Manager, who is pictured above.

Enthusiasm High for Reds Season on Opening Day

The 2010 Cincinnati Reds season got off to a huge start on Monday, April 5, 2010 on FOX Sports Ohio. Our Opening Day lineup offered more than five hours of original Reds-themed programming including Reds Live: Season Preview, Reds Live Pre-game show, and HD coverage of opening day against the St. Louis Cardinals at the Great American Ballpark.

Reds Live: Season Preview featured an interview with Reds Opening Day Starter Aaron Harang, a break down of the rest of the Reds pitching staff, analysis of the National League Central Division, a feature story with Reds Manager Dusty Baker, and Reds players' thought about Opening Day. The HD coverage of opening day also debuted the broadcast team of Chris Welsh and Thom Brennaman, plus two new in-game features for FOX Sports Ohio telecasts, X-M0 and FOX Trax.

FOX Sports Ohio also teamed with Local 12-WKRC-TV to simulcast Reds Live Pre-game Show and the entire game against the Cardinals. Combined with WKRC-TV the Reds Live Pre-game show earned a 6.66 overall rating and the Reds vs. Cardinals game earned a 12.46 overall rating, showing the strong support the Cincinnati Reds fans have for the 2010 Cincinnati Reds!

FOX Sports Ohio also added an online element on www.foxsportsohio.com for Reds fans on their computers. These elements included an in-game chat with Reds Hall of fame reporter Hal McCoy. During the opening day telecast the in-game chat drew roughly 250 active readers and almost 200 questions submitted for Hal. Also available online were are exclusive videos shot at Opening Day, the pre-game video report, and the post-game wrap, which are both exclusive material for FOXSportsOhio.com.
In addition to all of these great features for Reds Baseball on FOX Sports Ohio, we also ran a promotional event in partnership with Budweiser at Cadillac Ranch called Fan Cam. We brought in local radio talent, Gamble and Finn from 96Rock, to ask fans Fan Cam trivia, which was recorded and aired during Reds Live Post-game show.
Opening Day was a tremendous success for FOX Sports Ohio, our partners, the Cincinnati Reds and the entire city of Cincinnati! There is a lot to look forward to for Cincinnati Reds fans on FOX Sports Ohio for the rest of the season!

Thank You Blue Jackets Fans

FOX Sports Ohio and the Columbus Blue Jackets hosted "Viewer Appreciation Night," presented by Your Central Ohio Toyota Dealers, during the telecast of the Blue Jackets vs. Detroit Red Wings game on Friday, April 9 at 7pm.

Jackets fans watching at home had the opportunity to win one of three great prize packs! Prize packs included tickets to a 2010-2011 Blue Jackets game, team autographed merchandise, a Rick Nash autographed puck and more!

Once every period during the game FOX Sports Ohio broadcasters gave a keyword and cue to enter. Viewers then entered to win by texting the keyword to 37664. Fans could also enter online at http://www.foxsportsohio.com/.
The winner for each period was announced by the broadcasters in that same period. Here they are!

2nd Period winner: Mark from Lanaster, Ohio

Over 1600 text messages were made and over 700 entries came thru online.
