Last night’s Blue Jackets game highest rated regular season game since April of 2013

The Blue Jackets 1-0 shootout victory over the Red Wings last night not only extended the Jackets winning streak to seven games and put them in fifth place in the Metropolitan Division, but it was also the highest rated game so far this season on FOX Sports Ohio.

The game delivered a 2.47 HH rating in Columbus on FOX Sports Ohio.
  • The game replaces Saturday’s win over the Penguins (1.8 HH rating) as the highest rated game so far this season.
  • This is also the highest rated regular season game since the Jackets-Predator’s game from April 27, 2013, which garnered a 3.48 HH.
  •  The game peaked at 3.5 HH and averaged over a 3.4 HH for the final 45 minutes.

The Jackets are averaging a 0.82 HH in Columbus on FOX Sports Ohio, up +52% compared to last year’s same-game average.

Cavs ratings high continue

New high rating!

The Cavs defeat of the Raptors Tuesday night delivered a 9.9 HH rating, making it the highest rated game so far this season on FOX Sports Ohio.
  • The game ranked #1 in Cleveland, beating out the next closest primetime program by 65% (The Voice on NBC-WKYC).
  • The three highest rated games so far this season are:

1.     Dec. 9th vs. Raptors (9.9 HH)
2.     Nov. 14th at Celtics (9.78 HH)

3.     Nov. 10th vs. Pelicans (9.7 HH)

Cavs post another monster rating

SPORTSBIZ -- KEVIN KLEPS

The Cavs’ 111-108 win over the Bucks on Tuesday night generated an 8.9 rating on Fox Sports Ohio. The game was watched by more than 132,000 households, and the rating was the third-best of the season for a Cavs game on the network.

The final 45 minutes of the contest had a rating above 12, with more than 178,000 households tuning in, according to Fox Sports Ohio. The postgame show also posted huge numbers — a 6.0 rating and 90,000 households.

For the season, Cavs broadcasts on Fox Sports Ohio are averaging a 7.3 rating, which is a 114% increase from the first 15 games of the 2013-14 season. The 7.3 norm is also almost 162% above the Cavs’ average rating for the 2013-14 season (2.79).

That’s remarkable in itself. But when you consider that Fox Sports Ohio’s Cavs ratings ranked seventh in the NBA last season, it gets even better.

Those numbers will continue to improve as the Cavs continue to play up to the lofty standards everyone set prior to the season.

Will the Cavs’ ratings triple, as we’ve predicted?

Like David Blatt dusting off Mike Miller for some crunch-time minutes Tuesday night, or the possibility of Dion Waiters getting traded for interior help, anything seems possible with this team.
